• NSO Pops: Cirque de la Symphonie / Steven Reineke, conductor

  Back by popular demand! Cirque de la Symphonie's aerial artists, jugglers, strong men, illusionists, and more bring the magic of the circus to the Concert Hall. The San Francisco Examiner calls them "dazzling and elegant, if not death-defying!"
  

• NSO Pops: Wayne Shorter Quartet with Esperanza Spalding / Vince Mendoza, conductor

  For one performance, jazz great Wayne Shorter brings his own quartet and bassist/vocalist Esperanza Spalding to the NSO Pops. A highlight of the program will be the NSO co-commissioned Gaia, which Jazz Times called a "masterful" work.
  

• NSO Pops: Michael Cavanaugh: The Songs of Elton John and More / Steven Reineke, conductor

  Oct. 25 - 26, 2013
  "The new voice of the American rock and roll songbook" (Billboard), Michael Cavanaugh--charismatic vocalist, musician, and lead actor from Broadway's Movin' Out--returns to the NSO Pops to pay tribute to the music of Elton John and more.
  

• NSO Pops: An Evening with Matthew Morrison / Steven Reineke, conductor

  Nov. 29 - 30, 2013
  From TV's Glee to Broadway's South Pacific, Matthew Morrison's talents seem unstoppable. His NSO Pops program includes such standards as "Send in the Clowns," "As Long as She Needs Me," and "The Lady Is a Tramp," along with his own songs.

• NSO Pops: Happy Holidays! with Brian Stokes Mitchell / Steven Reineke, conductor

  Dec. 12 - 14, 2013
  With his "singularly thunderous baritone" (New York Times), Tony winner and Kennedy Center favorite Brian Stokes Mitchell (Sweeney Todd) returns for the holidays. Look out for Santa Claus and even snow in the Concert Hall!
  

• NSO Pops: Nas with the 20th Anniversary Celebration of ILLMATIC / Steven Reineke, conductor

  Mar. 28 - 29, 2014
  The NSO Pops venture into the realm of hip-hop with famed rapper and actor Nas, who marks the 20th anniversary of his debut album Illmatic and launches the Kennedy Center's weeklong celebration One Mic: Hip-Hop Culture Worldwide.
  

• NSO Pops: Rajaton: The Music of ABBA / Steven Reineke, conductor

  May 30 - 31, 2014
  With a name that's Finnish for "boundless," genre-crossing ensemble Rajaton joins the NSO Pops to pay tribute to Scandinavian pop sensations ABBA--who gave the world one hit after another, from "Dancing Queen" and "Mamma Mia" to "Take a Chance on Me."
  

• NSO Pops: The Midtown Men / Steven Reineke, conductor

  Jun. 27 - 28, 2014
  For the grand finale of the NSO Pops season, The Midtown Men--the four original stars of Broadway's hugely popular Jersey Boys--showcase their trademark sounds, choreography, and chemistry that took the musical theater world by storm.
